One Markdown record, not two artifacts
Markdown Slides lets one piece of content remain a readable page and play inside that page.
A page first, a presentation when needed
On the deck's own page, the player stays above the complete transcript. When it is embedded in an article, readers see the player itself.
An author only declares and divides
Set slides: true and divide pages with top-level breaks. Once the site has the named layout, set layout: slides to mount the player.
It can be truly embedded on the same site
Point ::embed at the deck's site-absolute path. The result is a usable 16-by-9 player, not a static screenshot.
Markdown is not the right home for every deck
Use another tool when a presentation needs a free-positioned canvas, an independent visual system, or extensive custom animation.
Write something worth reading first
If a talk should still be read after it ends, Slides lets that page be presented when needed.
